The Town of Melbourne Beach is accepting applications for a new Technology Advisory Board. The mission of the Board is to assist the Town in reviewing technology-related items before the Commission and provide recommendations to the Town Commission and Town Manager.
Desired skillsets for applicants include:
Information Technology (IT)
- Experience with networks, servers, cloud services
- Understanding of cybersecurity protocols
- Knowledge of municipal IT needs and best practices
Cybersecurity
- Risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Data privacy laws and policies (e.g., NIST, PII)
- Incident response planning
Data Analytics
- Use of data for civic decision-making
- Data governance, privacy, and open data policies
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Software Development and Systems Integration
- Municipal software selection and evaluation
- Website or Graphic design
- Interoperability between systems
Civic Engagement and Communication
- Tools for public feedback and participation (e.g., digital town halls)
- Social media and digital communications strategy
- Transparency tools and dashboards
