Adopt-an-Area Program

Join the community effort to beautify our Town and learn about sustainability while enjoying outdoor time with family and friends!

How does the program work?
Identify a spot on Town property to landscape and nurture as your personal adopted area.

How do I sign up?
Contact the Environmental Advisory Board through Town Hall at 321-724-5860. A representative will then coordinate a date to meet with you, review your location, help identify native plants, provide inspirational resources, and share sustainable maintenance tips.

Guidelines:

  1. Please regularly maintain your adopted area including trash removal, weeding, and trimming.
  2. Use organic compost if fertilizing, and never apply if rain is in the forecast.
  3. Honor the county-wide summer fertilizer ban in effect June 1 - September 30.
  4. Any plants added to your area must be Florida natives, and pre-approved by the Town.
  5. If you can no longer maintain your area, or need a temporary 'garden sitter,' please contact your Adopt-An-Area representative.
