Adopt-an-Area Program
Join the community effort to beautify our Town and learn about sustainability while enjoying outdoor time with family and friends!
How does the program work?
Identify a spot on Town property to landscape and nurture as your personal adopted area.
How do I sign up?
Contact the Environmental Advisory Board through Town Hall at 321-724-5860. A representative will then coordinate a date to meet with you, review your location, help identify native plants, provide inspirational resources, and share sustainable maintenance tips.
Guidelines:
- Please regularly maintain your adopted area including trash removal, weeding, and trimming.
- Use organic compost if fertilizing, and never apply if rain is in the forecast.
- Honor the county-wide summer fertilizer ban in effect June 1 - September 30.
- Any plants added to your area must be Florida natives, and pre-approved by the Town.
- If you can no longer maintain your area, or need a temporary 'garden sitter,' please contact your Adopt-An-Area representative.
